China's primary aluminum output in Sept hit the lowest level since May
2018-10-19

Oct 19 (LTIT) - China's primary aluminum production declined for the second consecutive month in September and fell to its lowest level since May, as smelters cut output due to weak aluminum prices and rising input costs. The smelter cut down the output because of the decline in aluminum prices and rising input costs.

Data show that China's primary aluminum (electrolytic aluminum) production in September was 2.79 million tons, down 1.8% from the previous month, but up 7.1% year-on-year.  China's primary aluminum production in January-September was 25 million tons, an increase of 4.2% over the same period last year.
